Carla A. Barone, with over 25 years of legal experience leads the matrimonial and family law practice at Cohen Forman Barone. Carla has worked in prestigious matrimonial law firms in New York City and Connecticut, including with Raoul Felder & Partners. Throughout her career, Carla has successfully negotiated and litigated complex divorce and custody cases involving state and international jurisdictional issues, complex asset division, business valuation, division of complex executive compensation, and income issues around self-employed individuals for spousal maintenance and child support determinations.

Professional Experience

After working as a Staff Attorney at The Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division, Carla began working in the private sector handling all phases of matrimonial and family law. Since that time, she has devoted her career to navigating individuals and families through the difficulty of divorce, custody, asset division, and separation.

She is a frequent lecturer on matrimonial law issues for the National Business Institute and has published articles for the Connecticut Law Tribune and co-authored a chapter in a multi-state continuing legal education resource entitled A Practical Guide to Divorce in Connecticut.

Carla Barone is an active member of the New York City Women’s Bar, the New York State Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and is an active member of Business Networking International (BNI).
